Contact

This private reference site cannot retrieve a docket, change a court date, issue a certified copy, or give legal advice. Official Douglas County case and record questions should go to the court office that maintains the file.

This Is Not a Court or Government Office. Douglas County Court Docket cannot alter a case, confirm a setting, unseal a record, or act for Douglas County District Court.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

Douglas County Court Administration is the operational custodian of district-court dockets and case records. The official court page identifies Kim Peterson as Court Administrator. Court Administration is the proper contact for a case-specific question, certified copy, restricted-record request, or hearing question that the current official calendar cannot answer.

Official court page

The county department page lists a 720 Elm Street office location and 305 Eighth Avenue West as the mailing address. Call before a specialized terminal, file-room, judge, or reporter visit because the public pages do not identify the exact terminal room.

Request Routing

Use the custodian that holds the needed record. MCRO is the remote public case-search layer, while MNPAC courthouse terminals can show more public material in person. Court Administration is the source for an official certified document. The statewide copy guidance identifies in-person, mail, eFiling, and available MCRO routes.

  • Docket or case lookup: use Case Lookup or MCRO, then compare the county, party, and case number.
  • Court date: use Court Dates, the current county calendar, and Court Administration for confirmation.
  • Certified or exemplified copy: ask Court Administration and identify the exact case and document.
  • Court file or public document: use Court Record Search for proper copy and access routes.
  • Traffic citation: follow the citation and use Traffic Tickets for the court-record route.

Separate Records Offices

A court record is not an incident, booking, or law-enforcement record. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Records Division holds its separate category. City clerks, the county Public Information Office, and the Recorder also have different custodial roles. A filed complaint, hearing history, judgment, or court-certified copy belongs with Court Administration.

For confidential or sealed court material, use the Judicial Branch CON100 and CON101 process. Adoption records use ADO601. A judicial officer decides an access request, so court staff cannot bypass a restriction.
